Retail Store Digitized with Scan to BIM Process
Scan to BIM Solutions delivered a Scan to BIM project for a large Wegmans retail store. The building included customer areas, product aisles, storage rooms, and loading zones. The client needed an accurate 3D model for renovation and space reorganization.
The existing layout had changed over time. Some parts lacked updated drawings. The store management team wanted a reliable digital model for future planning, maintenance, and interior upgrades. Our team used laser-scanned data to capture the real site conditions with high accuracy.
We modeled all key architectural and structural features. The digital model helped the client visualize the current store setup and plan changes without disruption to operations.
Solutions
We started by processing the point cloud data in Autodesk ReCap. Then we imported it into Revit. Our BIM experts modeled the complete retail layout. This included walls, columns, shelves, ceiling systems, HVAC zones, and service areas.
We followed LOD 300 standards. We used Navisworks to detect clashes and check system coordination. The final Revit model was clean, accurate, and ready to support upgrades, maintenance, and facility planning.
