Creating Digital Twins to Optimize Water Reclamation Plant Operations

Client required digital BIM models from scanned point cloud data to simplify the plant operations. A detailed BIM model serves as a digital twin of the Water Reclamation Plant and provides a complete virtual copy of the facility. This digital twin helps manage and maintain the plant more effectively by offering real-time data and insights. It allows facility managers to monitor systems, plan maintenance, and make informed decisions to improve operations.

Laser scanning provides a complete survey of the plant and capture detailed measurements of the entire facility. We use this method because it creates detailed 3D images of the site, which are essential for planning and design. This data is crucial for creating an accurate BIM model of the plant.

Our Scan to BIM services turn the laser scanning data from our clients into detailed BIM models. For the Water Reclamation Plant, we used Recap Pro to process the scan data and create a complete BIM model in Revit. This model includes all parts of the plant, like the structure and the mechanical systems.
