Point Cloud to BIM for Residential Building
Scan to BIM Solutions delivered a Scan to BIM service for a multi-storey residential building. The building had multiple rooms, balconies, and a staircase core. It included both interior and exterior features that required detailed documentation. The client wanted an accurate as-built model for renovation and layout planning.
The residential property had outdated floor plans and no reliable digital records. The client needed a BIM model to visualize the current structure. They planned to modify interiors and optimize the use of space. Our Scan to BIM service helped them get accurate geometry and layout of the entire residence.
We provided a 3D BIM model that reflected all architectural elements. This model served as a base for renovation, interior design, and construction updates.
Solutions
We received laser scanned data from the client in point cloud format. Our team imported the point cloud into Autodesk Revit. We created a clean, accurate 3D model using real-world measurements from the scan.
We modeled walls, doors, windows, stairs, slabs, and roof elements. We followed LOD 300 standards to include all necessary design details. We used Navisworks to check the model for clashes and alignment. The final output was a coordinated Revit model ready for planning and renovation.
