Scan to BIM Modeling for Al Bayt Stadium
Scan to BIM Solutions delivered a detailed BIM model for Al Bayt Stadium. This world-class stadium has a complex architectural design and large seating capacity. The client needed a digital replica of the structure for maintenance, space planning, and future upgrades.
The facility included grandstands, VIP zones, locker rooms, roof structures, and service corridors. The client lacked updated as-built documentation. They required a 3D model based on real site conditions to support technical operations and design decisions.
We used point cloud data to capture the current state of the building. Our BIM team recreated the entire stadium layout, including curved elements, stairways, seating zones, and steel frames. The goal was to deliver a model that could be used by facility managers and design consultants.
Solutions
We processed the scanned data using Autodesk ReCap. Then, we imported it into Revit. Our BIM modelers created the architectural and structural components from scratch. We included major elements like trusses, roof systems, and circulation areas.
We followed LOD standards for accuracy. We used Navisworks to perform clash detection and ensure coordination across all areas. The final Revit model was precise, clean, and ready for use in stadium upgrades and facility planning.
